Canada vs USA Finale: Quebec Restaurant Reservations Surge
The excitement surrounding the Canada vs. USA final has led to a spike in restaurant reservations across Quebec. Hockey fans are eager to celebrate the championship match by securing their spots in various establishments set to open earlier on Sunday morning.
Surge in Restaurant Reservations for the Finale
Philippe Laroche, co-owner of La Cage Lebourgneuf, reported an overwhelming demand, stating that he had to turn away between 150 to 200 customers. “It’s a tough situation to accommodate everyone, but it’s truly a great problem to have,” he noted, expressing enthusiasm for the upcoming game.
Anticipation for the Match
Laroche revealed that reservations were nearly full before the start of the semifinal match between Canada and Finland. He mentioned offerings like breakfast wraps, coffee, beer, and potentially chicken wings, adding with humor, “It doesn’t happen often, but this is a great occasion to have a pint of beer at 8 AM.”
Other Restaurants Joining the Festivities
Similar scenes are unfolding at the Inox restaurant, where co-owner Philippe Desrosiers shared that reservations filled quickly post-Canada’s win over Finland. “We are fully booked in Loretteville. Usually, we open at 11 AM, so this is a bonus for us,” he said.
- The restaurant will reach full capacity by 7 AM.
- Customers can enjoy a morning themed around mimosas and casseroles.
Special Menus and Promotions
The Blaxton on Boulevard Laurier is also expecting a busy morning, with special breakfast menus and a mimosa promotion to kickstart the day. Co-owner Pierre-Olivier Tardif expressed satisfaction with around fifty reservations. “This is excellent, considering that customers usually arrive around 11 AM. All we’re missing is a gold medal for Canada,” he added.
The enthusiasm for the Canada vs. USA finale has undoubtedly transformed these local venues into hubs for fan celebrations. With early openings and special menus, these restaurants are ready to cater to eager hockey supporters.
