Jane Pickens Theater Honors Diane Keaton, Robert Redford in New Film Series

The Jane Pickens Theater & Event Center is set to honor two cinematic legends: Diane Keaton and Robert Redford. This tribute will be showcased through curated film series that will take place from late February to May.

Diane Keaton Film Series

The first series, titled “Diane Keaton: A Woman To Love,” will highlight her illustrious career spanning over five decades. The title references her role in “Something’s Gotta Give,” where her character is fondly described as “a woman to love.”

Remembering Robert Redford

The second series, “Remembering Robert Redford,” celebrates his significant contributions as an actor, director, and activist. He also founded the renowned Sundance Film Festival.

All screenings will take place at the historic Jane Pickens Theater, located in Washington Square, Newport. This theater has a rich history, originally built in 1834 as a church and has been screening films since the 1920s. It remains the only cinema on Aquidneck Island.
