Max Scherzer’s Daughter Pens Heartfelt Letter for Blue Jays Return

In December, a touching letter from eight-year-old Brooke Scherzer captured the attention of the Toronto Blue Jays organization. She expressed her desire for her father, Max Scherzer, to be re-signed to the team. This heartfelt plea became a reality a few months later.

Brooke’s Letter to the Blue Jays

Brooke’s letter included an apology regarding the team’s previous season, where they fell short of competing in the World Series. In her correspondence, she wrote:

  • “Dear Blue Jays, I am so sorry that you didn’t win the World Series.”
  • “I hope that you win next time. I hope my dad is back on the team.”
  • “My whole family loves spending time in Toronto with our dad. We loved the aquarium, CN Tower, and of course, the stadium.”

Brooke finished her letter with a hopeful note about returning next season, signing off as “Max Scherzer’s daughter.”

Performance and Expectations

Although Scherzer is no longer in peak form, he remains a valuable player for the Blue Jays. Last season, he recorded a 5.19 ERA over 85 innings, nearly doubling his workload from the previous year. In the postseason, he posted a commendable 3.77 ERA and secured a victory in his three starts.

The Blue Jays are looking forward to having Scherzer back as they aim for a successful campaign in the coming season. With the support of his family and fans, both on and off the field, his presence in Toronto has gained renewed significance.
