St David’s Day Celebrations in Staffordshire

A special talk is scheduled for 14:00 at The Brampton Museum in Newcastle Under Lyme, Staffordshire. Stuart Haywood, the chairman of The Stoke-on-Trent & District Welsh Society, will lead the discussion. His book, *The Welsh in North Staffordshire*, draws on extensive research into the migration of Welsh people during the Victorian era.

Haywood’s presentation will cover:

  • The locations where Welsh migrants settled in North Staffordshire.
  • The factors that influenced their decision to move.
  • The formation of local communities.

Concert at Cradley Church

On the same day, residents of Herefordshire can enjoy a concert at Cradley Church, starting at 15:00. The event will feature performances by the Malvern Male Voice Choir and harpist Shelley Fairplay. Ticket prices are set at £18, which includes refreshments. Proceeds will benefit both Cradley Church and Cradley Village Hall.
