Chelsea FC Honors International Women’s Day with Special Celebration
Chelsea Football Club is set to celebrate International Women’s Day on March 8 with a series of initiatives. This year’s theme, “Every woman. Every girl. Every season,” underscores the club’s commitment to gender equality in football and beyond.
Empowering Women Through Action
Chelsea FC is dedicated to creating a supportive environment for women. The club focuses on understanding, empowering, and providing opportunities for women at different stages of life. The aim is to help them thrive both within and outside the sport.
Fans can follow Chelsea’s activities for International Women’s Day on social media platforms @ChelseaFCW, @ChelseaFC, and @CFCFoundation. The campaign’s hashtag is #GiveToGain.
Celebrating with the Chelsea Foundation
The Chelsea Foundation will honor International Women’s Day by implementing the #GiveToGain theme. This initiative pays tribute to those who have paved the way for girls while encouraging others to contribute positively.
The celebration began at Cobham, where 25 women and girls, including participants from the Inspire Her programme and the Adapted Sports walking football team, gathered. Students from St Mary’s University Twickenham also participated.
- Participants engaged in a mentorship workshop.
- They wrote two pledges: advice for others and reflections on past support.
- Surprise guests Sam Kerr and Kadeisha Buchanan shared their insights.
- The event concluded with a walking football match led by older participants.
This workshop’s success will inspire similar initiatives in the Foundation’s Health & Wellbeing, Education, Community, and Futures programs. The goal is to reach a broad audience, celebrate the legacy of female supporters, and motivate the next generation.
Women’s Empowerment Network at Chelsea FC
Last year, Chelsea FC established a Women’s Empowerment Network. This initiative aimed to foster connections among women in the organization and address workplace issues related to gender. To commemorate the network’s first anniversary, a discussion panel will be held to explore women’s health in the football industry.
- Esteemed guests will provide insights on women’s health.
- The discussion will focus on creating an inclusive work environment.
Looking Ahead to Future Celebrations
As part of the build-up to International Women’s Day 2026, Chelsea FC has released a video showcasing the club’s commitment to women’s empowerment. The video features players, staff, fans, and Foundation program participants, reinforcing the club’s ongoing dedication to uplifting women in football.
