NHL Stars Join McDonald’s Canada to Launch Star Sticks Meal
McDonald’s Canada is set to introduce an exciting new offering called the NHL® Star Sticks Meal. This meal will launch on March 3, 2026, and is part of a collaboration with the National Hockey League (NHL) and the National Hockey League Players’ Association (NHLPA). The promotion features some of hockey’s brightest stars and is designed to engage fans in a unique way.
NHL Star Sticks Meal Details
The NHL Star Sticks Meal includes the fan-favorite Hockey Hero Burger®, along with a collectible mini hockey stick. Fans can choose from one of several entrées, which include:
- Hockey Hero Burger® (limited time only)
- 10-piece Chicken McNuggets®
- Big Mac®
- McVeggie
- Spicy McVeggie
Each meal also comes with medium World Famous Fries, made from 100% Canadian potatoes, and a medium fountain drink. A unique NHL Star Stick will accompany each meal, featuring seven prominent NHL stars:

- Auston Matthews
- Macklin Celebrini
- Quinn Hughes
- Cale Makar
- Samuel Montembeault
- Sam Reinhart
The Hero Burger Returns
The Hockey Hero Burger® has a rich history at McDonald’s, making a comeback with an enhanced recipe. It consists of:
- Three juicy 100% Canadian beef patties
- Shredded lettuce
- Crispy hickory-smoked bacon
- Processed cheese
- Mayo-style sauce
- A toasted homestyle bun
A Nod to Hockey Culture
Francesca Cardarelli, Chief Marketing Officer at McDonald’s Canada, highlighted the significance of this campaign. She mentioned that the NHL Star Sticks Meal celebrates hockey culture by offering fans a chance to collect memorabilia while enjoying an iconic burger.
The initiative revives the excitement of mini hockey sticks, which were first introduced nearly 20 years ago, bringing together generations of hockey fans.

The NHL Star Sticks Meal will be available at participating McDonald’s locations across Canada for a limited time. Fans can enjoy this offer through the McDonald’s app or McDelivery® for added convenience.
