Pr: Sancho Loko arrested in Curitiba as Gaeco probe widens
Pr moved into the center of a fast-moving police investigation in Curitiba on Tuesday, when military police officer Marcionilio Sancho Cambuhy Junior, known as “Sancho Loko, ” was arrested during a Gaeco operation led by the Public Ministry of Paraná. He and two other police officers were detained as investigators examine suspected torture, procedural fraud, bodily injury, and ideological falsehood. The case has now reached preventive detention, keeping Pr at the heart of a wider inquiry into alleged misconduct inside the force.
What investigators say they found in Curitiba
The operation involved four warrants in all, carried out with support from the General Internal Affairs office of the Military Police of Paraná. Three searches targeted homes linked to the suspects, while one took place at the military unit where they work in the state capital.
During the searches, investigators seized cell phones and other electronic storage devices that may help clarify what happened. In two of the officers’ homes, authorities found irregular ammunition and cash. At the PM unit, in unlabeled lockers, investigators located firearm replicas, irregular ammunition, and portions of drugs including marijuana, crack, and cocaine.
Officials say the suspected offenses were repeated more than once, which raises the stakes of the case and explains why Pr has drawn close attention in Paraná’s security circles.
Pr and the online profile behind the uniform
Sancho Loko has about 270, 000 followers on a social network, where he presents the routine of police work and posts about operations and responses to incidents. That public image is now colliding with a criminal investigation that places his conduct under scrutiny.
His lawyer, Claudio Dalledone, said Sancho was arrested in flagrante for being in possession of two stun grenades, which he said have no lethal effect. Dalledone also said ammunition compatible with the caliber of the weapons Sancho uses as a shooting instructor was found, and argued that the preventive detention order was “unjustified. ”
He added that the defense will seek habeas corpus before the Court of Justice and said he expects Sancho’s release.
Immediate reactions from police and defense
The Military Police said it supported the operation through its General Internal Affairs office and confirmed that the action examines alleged conduct violations committed during police approaches in Curitiba. The force said irregularities were found during the investigative steps.
The names of the other two detained officers were not released. Sancho appeared at a custody hearing and, since Thursday, has been held in preventive detention. Pr remains a live issue as investigators continue to sort through seized material and determine the full scope of the allegations.
What happens next in Pr
The next developments are expected to center on the analysis of the seized devices, the legal challenge to the detention order, and the broader internal review tied to the operation. For now, Pr stands as the shorthand for a case that has moved quickly from a targeted arrest to a wider test of conduct inside Curitiba’s military police ranks.
