BTS’ ‘ARIRANG’ Tops Billboard 200 for Third Consecutive Week

BTS’ album “ARIRANG” has achieved a significant milestone by holding the No. 1 position on the Billboard 200 for the third consecutive week. This achievement is documented in the chart dated April 18, following the week ending April 9. During this week, “ARIRANG” garnered a total of 124,000 equivalent album units in the United States, despite experiencing a 34% decrease in sales.

BTS’ “ARIRANG” and Chart History

“ARIRANG” debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 chart on April 4. This makes it the first album by a group to secure three consecutive weeks at No. 1 since Mumford & Sons’ “Babel,” which accomplished this feat in 2012-2013. Notably, “Babel” had five nonconsecutive weeks atop the chart, and it also marked the last album by a group to achieve three weeks at No. 1 upon its debut.

Interestingly, “ARIRANG” is compared to Taylor Swift’s “The Life of a Showgirl,” which previously spent seven weeks at No. 1. “ARIRANG” is also the first album since then to capture the top spot for its initial three weeks on the chart.
