Marielle Heller Directs Live-Action ‘Ferngully’ for Amazon MGM
Amazon MGM Studios is embarking on an exciting new project with a live-action adaptation of the cherished 1992 animated film FernGully: The Last Rainforest. This upcoming film will be directed by Marielle Heller, who is also the screenwriter. The adaptation is set to bring a modern touch to the classic story.

The film will be produced by Stacey Sher through Shiny Penny, alongside Susan Ursitti-Sheinberg, Jon Sheinberg, and Matt Feige from Sheinberg Feige Organization (SFO Entertainment). Heller will collaborate with Leah Holzer from Defiant by Nature. Moonli Singha is onboard as the executive producer for the project.
