Ireland will get one last burst of warm spring weather on Tuesday before the forecast turns more unsettled later in the week, with showers and rain spreading back in after the brief lift in temperatures.

Monday is set to stay mostly dry, though isolated showers are possible, especially in the north. Temperatures will top out at 13 degrees in the north and 19 degrees in the south, before the night turns dry with clear spells and patches of mist and fog as values fall to three to eight degrees.

Tuesday will be the warmest day of the spell for many places, with dry conditions and sunny spells pushing highs to 13 to 19 degrees. The west will be warmest, while the east will be cooler under a light to moderate east to northeast breeze. Tuesday night stays dry too, with more mist and fog and lows of three to seven degrees.

Wednesday brings another dry and sunny day, with temperatures reaching 13 to 18 degrees. By Wednesday night, however, cloud and rain are expected to develop in the south overnight, a sign that the brief warm spell is already giving way to a more changeable pattern.

That shift deepens on Thursday, when showers are possible in the south and southwest before spreading northeastwards. Highs will range from 11 to 13 degrees in the southwest and 14 to 17 degrees elsewhere, before showery rain clears to the northeast overnight and moves southwest, with lows of seven to 11 degrees.

Friday is forecast to bring a mix of sunny spells and scattered showers, turning heavy at times, and the bank holiday weekend should see mixed weather with occasional showers along with drier and brighter spells. The forecast points to a short-lived warm spell rather than a sustained heatwave ireland pattern, and the holiday weekend is expected to feel cooler than recently.
