Juke Harris expected to commit to Tennessee this week, Chris Low says

Chris Low says Juke Harris will likely 'pull the trigger' this week and commit to Tennessee, even as Harris balances the 2026 NBA Draft process and Combine.

told listeners on on Sunday that his sources point to deciding to come to this week. "You never say never, but all my intel says that this week that Juke Harris will pull the trigger and come to Tennessee," Low said.

Low added a personal detail that matters inside the recruiting picture: "I know his mom is a big fan of the program, and a big fan of ." He also reminded listeners that Tennessee was involved with Harris when he was in high school. "Tennessee was right there in it when he went out of high school," Low said.

The concrete counterweight to that claim arrived Monday from , who wrote that Harris "declared for the Draft earlier this month and remains focused on going through that process." Tipton noted Harris is "currently projected as an early second-round pick, which could ultimately lead to a return to college," and warned Harris' stock could change with a strong showing at the NBA Draft Combine in "a couple of weeks" and solid workouts.

Tipton spelled out the choice plainly: "It sounds obvious, but Harris will have a decision to make — return to college or remain in the Draft." He added that "that call will likely come down to the feedback he receives over the next few weeks."

Context matters. Tennessee has emerged as the favorite for Harris after Nate Ament recently declared for the 2026 NBA Draft, opening the door for a wing like Harris to join the roster. Michigan, Low said, "has probably been in Juke Harris’ ear telling him, ‘Hey, Ament is coming back, so you might want to rethink that decision.'" Low added, "Well, we know that (Ament returning to UT) is not happening now." For Tennessee, juke harris's potential arrival would follow Ament's decision and reshape a roster search.

The friction here is practical and immediate: Harris could commit to Tennessee this week and still end up in the NBA next season. That trade-off — securing a collegiate spot while preserving an exit to the Draft — is precisely what Tipton was describing when he wrote that a rise in draft stock at the Combine and in workouts "could propel him into the first round." In short, a commitment to Knoxville would not necessarily close the door on a pro path.

The Volunteers know uncertainty. The football program waited until late February to learn whether quarterback would be allowed to play another season; Aguilar's injunction was denied, and Tennessee moved forward with redshirt freshman George MacIntyre and true freshman Faizon Brandon as starting options. That delay is the frame Tennessee operates in now — trying to plan while high-impact decisions hang.

Low offered the clearest forecast: "unless there’s a big snag or a curveball at the end, I think Juke Harris will be a Tennessee Vol." He said, "I think we’ll probably hear something this week." If that happens, Tennessee can add a prospective starter while Harris keeps the NBA process alive — and waits for the Combine and workouts to decide whether to remain in the 2026 NBA Draft.

This is a decisive week for one player and a program. Given Low’s sources and Tipton’s note about Harris’ draft standing, the most plausible outcome is that Harris announces for Tennessee in the coming days, while reserving the right to turn professional if his draft stock improves after the Combine.
