Draymond Green Criticizes Tari Eason After Game 3 Switches
Draymond Green called out tari eason this week for accepting switches during Game 3 of the Rockets' opening-round postseason series against the Lakers. Green said he saw a defender avoiding the fight through screens, then pointed to Eason as the example.
The comments added a fresh public edge to a feud that has run since the 2023-24 NBA season. Eason has answered before with words, a shirt and strong playoff production, and Green has answered back each time.
Green Targets Game 3 Switches
“Something I saw in the game with Tari Eason,” Green said on The Draymond Green Show this week. He then sharpened the point with a direct complaint about how Eason handled the action: “Tari Eason, in Game 3, was accepting all of these switches.”
Green said he dislikes that choice from defenders and sees it as a sign they do not want the challenge. “I hate when I see guys who are supposed to be defenders, like alright I got screened, I'm gonna switch,” he said. “I take that as guys don't be wanting to defend.”
Rockets And Warriors History
This latest criticism lands inside a rivalry that already has a long paper trail. It started during Ime Udoka's first season as Rockets head coach, when Eason told the Warriors to “come out and play” on social media before a matchup between the teams.
The Warriors then went 4-0 after those comments and beat the Rockets 133-110. Eason also wore a shirt with the same message while sidelined with injury, and Green mocked him for it. The two later got into an altercation in Game 4 of the 2025 Western Conference Quarterfinals, when Eason was given a technical foul and Green drew a Flagrant Two foul for using his leg to push himself off Eason.
Eason's Playoff Production
Green's latest remarks also arrived after Eason had two strong games against the Lakers. In Game 1, he scored 16 points on perfect 7-of-7 shooting, including 2-of-2 from long-range, with 10 rebounds, three steals and two assists.
In Game 4, Eason posted 20 points on 7-of-10 shooting, hit 2-of-5 from deep and added eight rebounds, two assists and five steals. Green said he was especially unhappy with one switch involving Alperen Sengun and LeBron James, adding, “I'm not just switching and watching Sengun guard LeBron James.”
That was part of the challenge Green kept returning to: “For what?” he asked before adding, “We know how that ends” and “We know how the story ends.” The Rockets forward and the Warriors defender have moved from social media jabs to playoff contact to podcast criticism, and this round leaves Eason's defense back under a brighter light as the series conversation continues.
