Podkolzin Backs Edmonton Ahead of Game 6 at Honda Center — Ducks Vs Oilers

ducks vs oilers has moved into a road elimination game for Edmonton, with the Oilers trailing 3-2 in the series heading into Game 6 Thursday night at the Honda Center. Vancouver winger Vasily Podkolzin said the group understands the stakes after Edmonton finally rolled out its best game, or something reasonably close to it, on Tuesday night at Rogers Place.

Podkolzin On Edmonton

“You don’t really need to say a lot, when the season is on the line, everybody understands and responds.” Podkolzin said that after Game 4, and he added, “I like our leadership group, they sent a great message after Game 4.”

He also said, “Nothing is done yet.” and, “Only our group could come back from nothing.” Those lines fit the position Edmonton is in now: one loss ends the season, while a win pulls the series back to level.

Honda Center Pressure

Anaheim has beaten the Oilers three times in the last four games and has yet to lose on home ice in the series. That leaves Edmonton trying to solve the Ducks in their own building after a Tuesday performance that at least gave the Oilers something sturdier to carry into Thursday.

Podkolzin also said, “I really like our mood in the locker room.” For Edmonton, that mood now has to survive the trip to the Honda Center and turn one better night into a result that keeps the series alive.
