Dylan Moore's Goal After Siren Salvages Draw — Afl Results

Afl results delivered a draw at the siren, with Dylan Moore kicking after the final siren to rescue Hawthorn against Collingwood. The match ended level, but both clubs now have sore bodies to manage after a bruising round eight contest.

Moore Stuns Collingwood

Moore’s kick after the siren was the last decisive act of the game. It wiped out Collingwood’s position with 40 seconds to go, when Craig McRae believed his side should have been able to hold on.

McRae said Hawthorn had already hurt Collingwood at the most damaging moments. He pointed to goals right on the siren at half-time, another at three-quarter time, and then Moore’s strike at the end.

Perryman's Hamstring Check

Harry Perryman looks to be Collingwood’s biggest concern. He sat on the pine for the second half with a hamstring issue, and scans were needed to work out the extent of the problem.

McRae said Perryman described his hamstring as “pretty good” when asked about it, but the fact he did not return after halftime leaves Collingwood waiting on the scan results before they can assess his availability.

Collingwood's Sore Bodies

Several others came through the game carrying damage. McRae said Jamie Elliott and Nick Daicos had knocks and soreness throughout the match, Steele Sidebottom had his hand stomped on, and Darcy Cameron battled an ankle concern.

That came on top of Collingwood already being without Scott Pendlebury and Jeremy Howe, who were managed, plus Beau McCreery and Tim Membrey, who were injured. The draw still came after Hawthorn had been strong in most statistical areas, with Collingwood staying in touch through their inside-50 efficiency.

Sicily's Ankle Before Perth

Hawthorn also have a key watch point. Sam Mitchell said James Sicily tried to push through an ankle injury, was a little bit sore, and was shifted forward because playing him in defence might have been an issue.

Mitchell said Sicily would get every chance to recover during Hawthorn’s seven-day break before the trip to Perth to play the Dockers, with the skipper expected to rest up over the next day or two. For both clubs, the draw brought relief and concern at once: one point shared, but a longer injury list to manage.
