Victime: Justine Larche, 39, killed at Bar 77 in Gatineau
Justine Larche, 39, was killed by gunfire at the Bar 77 in Gatineau, and the word victime now carries a name for her family and neighbors. The Service de police de la Ville de Gatineau said Monday afternoon that no arrest had been made.
Larche was identified as the woman killed last Thursday night. Her relatives said on GoFundMe that she was the mother of three children, and the campaign was started to support the family and cover funeral expenses.

The bar said it is working with police “pour faire la lumière sur cette situation hors de notre contrôle.” It also said, “La sécurité et le bien-être de notre communauté demeurent notre priorité absolue,” and offered condolences to those close to Larche.
Police said the circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear. The force did not say whether Larche was the intended target, leaving the case without an arrest and without a public account of how the shooting unfolded.

Justine nous a été enlevée de façon tragique, laissant derrière elle un vide immense et trois enfants qui doivent maintenant apprendre à avancer sans leur maman.” They added, “Justine était une maman dévouée, une personne aimante et précieuse pour tous ceux qui la connaissaient. Aujourd’hui, c’est à notre tour de prendre soin de ce qu’elle avait de plus cher: ses enfants.”
This was the first homicide of 2026 on SPVG territory, a fact that leaves police with one active question at the center of the case: who fired the shots, and why. For now, the family is left to raise support for three children while the investigation continues around them.
