Tom Brady Empowers Raiders to Run Day-to-Day Operations
Tom Brady has empowered the Raiders to run the day-to-day operations the way they see fit, John Spytek said this week. The general manager said he and Klint Kubiak can handle the daily work while Brady’s role settles into a minority-owner framework.
Spytek On Brady’s Role
“I don’t think it’s going to be hard,” Spytek said when asked if keeping Brady out of the quarterbacks room would be difficult. He added, “We both welcome Tom’s insight and his input.”
That leaves the football staff with the room that matters most on the personnel side. Spytek said the team will be “a very process-driven organization right now,” and he described Brady as supportive of how they want to work each day.
Raiders Building Their Process
“Tom has empowered us to run the day-to-day of the Raiders the way that we see fit,” Spytek said. He also pointed to “the support that he’s given us to do the day-to-day stuff the right way” and “the way that he allows us to do things the right way day-to-day.”
The quarterback room sits at the center of that structure. Spytek said there will be “a high level of accountability and demand” there, which puts the focus on the people inside the building rather than on Brady’s ownership stake.
Kubiak And Spytek Lead
Spytek and Kubiak are going to bear much of the responsibility for the team’s results. The coming season and the larger success of the Raiders remain to be determined, and that makes their daily decisions the clearest measure of how this setup works.
For now, the message from the front office is direct: Brady can offer input, but the football staff is running the franchise’s day-to-day business. If the Raiders are going to make this arrangement work, the accountability starts with Spytek and Kubiak.
