Getafe Fc Trails 1-0 as Rayo Vallecano Reach Half-Time

Soria Denies De Frutos
Jorge de Frutos forced the clearest first-half save when he sent a left-footed shot toward the bottom right corner, and Soria got there for Getafe. De Frutos had two attempts in the opening half, which kept the pressure on a back line already carrying a booking for Abdel Abqar.
Rayo Vallecano also had Pathé Ciss booked for a bad foul before the interval. That left both sides having to manage the edge in the contest while the scoreboard stayed tight at 1-0.
Luis Vázquez Forces Batalla
Getafe created their own opening through Luis Vázquez, who had two attempts in the first half. Augusto Batalla saved a header from him in the centre of the goal, and that was as close as Getafe came to level terms before the break.
Vázquez was later shown a yellow card, adding another setback for a side already chasing the game. The mix of missed chances and cautions left Getafe needing a cleaner second half if they wanted to change the match state.
