Billy Sharp Ends Doncaster Spell With 3 Goals at Peterborough Football Score
Billy Sharp ended his final game for Doncaster Rovers with a football score to remember, scoring all three goals in a 3-1 win at Peterborough. The 40-year-old reached 299 career goals in all competitions, leaving him one short of 300 as he prepares to move on in the summer.

Sharp’s hat-trick came in Doncaster’s 3-1 win, and he nearly added a fourth before a late effort was ruled out for offside. After the match, he said he felt very lucky after scoring three times and almost making it four.
“I just wanted that feeling one more time but to do it three times - and nearly four - I don't know, I felt very lucky. I didn't think it was real,” Sharp said after the game. He added: “When I scored the second, I knew there was a chance. I went to bed dreaming on Friday thinking: 'Get two before half-time and it's on'.”

Sharp finished the season with 14 goals and extended his record of scoring EFL hat-tricks in his 20s, 30s and 40s. The hat-trick also came in his third spell at Doncaster, a club he helped last season when they won promotion to League One.
Owen Bailey summed up the reaction in the dressing room, saying Sharp was “an unbelievable person and an even better player,” and added: “To get a hat-brick on his last game for us, I think only he could do it.”
Sharp called it “an absolute pleasure to play with them and to score a hat-trick on the final day,” and said: “Football just makes memories and I'm lucky.” With one goal left to reach 300, he leaves Doncaster after a farewell that matched the rarity of his career: three goals on the day he said goodbye.
