Arsenal Beat Fulham 3-0 to Move Six Points Clear — Epl Fixtures
Arsenal beat Fulham 3-0 on Saturday to move six points clear of Manchester City in the epl fixtures title race. With three league games left, they also widened their goal difference edge over City to four, giving Mikel Arteta’s side a stronger position after two weeks that had threatened to swing the race away from them.
Arteta’s Arsenal Response
Arteta said the win came after a demanding week and praised the way his team handled it. "I think the team played incredibly well," he said. "We dominated and showed the hunger we discussed before the game."
He also said, "I'm extremely happy. It was a really tough match to play. We came back to Madrid very late on Thursday. We gave so much in that match and had to play a team in good form." Arsenal scored three unanswered goals against Fulham, a cleaner margin than the one-goal pressure they had faced earlier in the run-in.
Man City Still Have Time
The result comes after Arsenal were knocked off top spot two weeks ago for the first time in 209 days, following defeats by Bournemouth and Manchester City and a City win at Burnley. Since then, Arsenal have beaten Newcastle and drawn their Champions League semi-final first leg at Atletico Madrid between those league wins.
Manchester City remain in the race with five league games left and two games fewer played than Arsenal. Opta gives Arsenal a 79.7% chance of being champions for the first time since 2004, but the title could still come down to goal difference or goals scored if the gap narrows again.
West Ham, Burnley, Crystal Palace
Arsenal now have to carry that margin through a heavy finish. They visit West Ham next Saturday after their Champions League return tie against Atletico Madrid on Tuesday, then host Burnley on 18 May before traveling to Crystal Palace on 24 May.
The table has tilted back toward Arsenal, but the run-in still leaves little room for error. They have three league games left to protect a six-point lead and a four-goal difference edge that could decide everything if Manchester City keep winning.
