Henman And Cooper Cordoned Off After Man Falls Number Of Floors
A man fell a number of floors inside henman and cooper on Colmore Row in Birmingham city centre and suffered serious injuries. Police have cordoned off the building while officers and emergency service colleagues work to establish what happened.
Colmore Row Scene
West Midlands Police said officers were at the scene on Sunday evening with emergency service colleagues. The injured man was taken to hospital after the fall, which happened inside the venue building rather than outside it.
The cordon left the Henman & Cooper site shut off on one of the city centre’s busiest streets. That closure came after the incident had already triggered a response from police and other emergency services, turning a planned night out into a shutdown for anyone who had been heading there.
Sunday Event Cancelled
Henman & Cooper had advertised an event starting at 16:00 BST on Sunday, with the best DJs in the city bringing nonstop House, Garage and Disco energy all day into the night. Instead, the venue posted on Facebook that, due to unforeseen circumstances, it would be closed for the evening.
The sequence of events left guests with no access to the venue and cut off the Sunday programme before it could run its course. For anyone who had planned to attend, the immediate change was simple: the building was closed, police remained on site, and the advertised event did not go ahead as planned.
