Jaheim Bell Steelers Contract Adds Tight End on One-Year Deal

The jaheim bell steelers contract is done. Pittsburgh signed tight end Jaheim Bell to a one-year deal after bringing him back near the end of the 2025 season on the practice squad.

Bell Returns To Pittsburgh

Bell gives the Steelers a tight end with NFL game experience and another player who already knows the organization. He was on Pittsburgh's practice squad late in the 2025 season, then landed a new one-year contract instead of waiting for another roster opening.

That path has been short but active. Bell was drafted by the New England Patriots in the seventh round of the 2024 NFL Draft out of Florida State, then appeared in 15 games for New England and caught two passes for 20 yards.

Patriots And College Production

The Patriots stint came after a college career that stretched across two schools. Bell played three seasons at South Carolina before transferring to Florida State for his final season, and he finished with 38 college games, 95 receptions, 1,260 yards, nine touchdowns and four rushing touchdowns.

Those numbers show why he has kept landing opportunities despite limited production in New England. Pittsburgh is betting on a player who has already moved through draft capital, a rookie-year NFL role and multiple practice-squad stops without losing his place in the league.

Steelers Keep Adding Pieces

Bell's signing was part of a larger wave of Steelers moves that also included Brandon Johnson, Travis Homer, Brock Hoffman, Ryan McCollum, Jaquan Brisker, Sebastian Joseph-Day, Jamel Dean, Rico Dowdle, Esezi Otomewo and Asante Samuel Jr. The club also acquired Michael Pittman Jr. in a trade with the Indianapolis Colts.

For Bell, the immediate task is simple: turn a one-year deal into a spot that lasts longer than a practice-squad return. Pittsburgh already showed last season that it was willing to keep him in the building, and now it has committed another contract to see whether that familiarity can translate into a role.
