Hargreaves backs Strummingbird 2026 Lineup for Ballarat's October 10 debut
Tracey Hargreaves is putting the strummingbird 2026 lineup on Ballarat's calendar for October 10, 2026, with Victoria Park set to host the one-day modern country festival. The city is the sole Victorian stop in a three-host-city run that also reaches Newcastle and the Sunshine Coast.
The festival could draw upwards of 30,000 visitors and inject between $6 million and $9 million into the local economy across the event weekend. That scale makes this more than a single-night booking; it gives Ballarat a tourism spike built around modern country hits, country-themed DJ sets and line-dancing.
Victoria Park takes the date
Victoria Park is the site that matters here, because it gives Ballarat the clearest local stake in a festival that will be shared across only three host cities. The City of Ballarat said it would continue to provide support to Victoria Park users so the impact of the festival was minimal and the benefits to the city were realised.
Hargreaves said, "As the only event in Victoria, we expect visitors to travel from all around the state to attend this event and we look forward to welcoming them to Ballarat."
Spilt Milk organizers return
The event comes from the same organisers behind Spilt Milk, a detail that helps explain why Ballarat is getting a festival built to move quickly and draw interstate attention. Strummingbird will also feature local and international artists, which broadens the lineup beyond the modern country core and gives the city a wider booking footprint for the weekend.
John Pandazopoulos said, "These events drive strong visitation and spending, benefiting accommodation providers, hospitality venues and local attractions as festivalgoers explore the region," and he added, "Strummingbird is sure to be another bumper weekend and is going to further cement Ballarat's reputation as Victoria's regional music capital."
Ballarat's regional music case
Ballarat has been positioning itself as a regional live music capital, and this booking fits that pitch with a rare mix of tourism volume and identity branding. The practical effect is straightforward: if the crowd lands near the top end of the estimate, local operators from hotels to venues are the ones positioned to feel it first.
For residents and businesses near Victoria Park, the next thing to watch is how the city handles access and support around the site while festival operations move in for the weekend. For Ballarat, the value of Strummingbird is already set by the numbers: one day, one Victorian host, and up to $9 million flowing into the local economy.
