Braves Score 11-6 Over Rockies to Complete Coors Field Sweep
The Braves score kept climbing Sunday, and Colorado could not slow it down. Atlanta beat the Rockies 11-6 at Coors Field to finish a three-game sweep, with 28 total runs across the series.
Braves Surge Past Kyle Freeland
Kyle Freeland struck out a season-high seven batters, but he still gave up six runs on eight hits and three walks over 4.1 innings. The damage started after Matt Olson opened the second inning with a leadoff double, then Jonah Heim and Jorge Mateo followed with back-to-back home runs.
The Rockies briefly answered before the fifth inning, but Atlanta took control again with patience and contact. After three walks and two singles, Antonio Senzatela entered with the bases loaded and allowed one more run on a sacrifice fly.
Colorado Could Not Hold The Lead
Colorado got its first run when Edouard Julien drew a leadoff walk, stole second and scored on TJ Rumfield's single in the first inning. Rumfield added a solo home run in the third for his fourth home run of the season, and Mickey Moniak followed with a two-run shot in the fourth before hitting another homer in the eighth.
That offense still left the Rockies short. They finished 2-for-10 with runners in scoring position and stranded nine baserunners, while Atlanta closed with 11 runs on 14 hits and six walks.
Late Inning Separation
Victor Vodnik worked a scoreless eighth and picked off Mauricio Dubón after walking him, but Jimmy Herget gave up three straight hits in the ninth and the Braves scored three more runs. Atlanta's lineup kept extending the margin, and the 11-6 final completed the sweep that had been building since the first game of the set.
