Finn Wolfhard Wears Thom Browne for First Met Gala Appearance
Finn Wolfhard is heading to his first-ever Met Gala in Thom Browne, turning a years-long wardrobe habit into a debut on fashion’s biggest stage. He said he has worn the label in daily life, on press runs and to promote films, and that the brand also dressed him for his band’s first tour.
Thom Browne and Wolfhard
“I’ve loved their clothes for so many years now,” Wolfhard said over Zoom about Thom Browne. He also said, “They’ve been really generous with me in the past. I’ve worn a lot of their knitwear and a lot of their stuff just in my daily life, and also to promote films. They actually dressed me for my band’s first tour, so I already had a relationship with the label.”
That history gives the Met Gala look more weight than a one-night styling turn. Wolfhard is not walking in as a new client testing a brand relationship; he is stepping into a black high-twist wool suit, slick trousers and a utility skirt belt after years of wearing Thom Browne as part of his own rotation.
Black Wool Suit Details
“It’s a really beautiful suit,” Wolfhard said of the outfit. “There’s patterns that are really interesting, that are super subtle. If you look at a photo of it, you don’t really pick it up until your eye kind of catches it.” The silhouette and those quiet details put the focus on tailoring rather than spectacle, which suits his stated taste.
Wolfhard described that taste as “vintage, comfortable, British,” and added, “It’s kind of a mishmash of a bunch of things. I just love anything that’s sort of British-inspired.” He said he is also a massive fan of Tokyo label Beams, and that his relationship to fashion is always changing.
Fashion, Music, July 10
Wolfhard’s first Met Gala comes days after he released a new single, “I’ll Let You Finish,” and before his album Fire From the Hip arrives on July 10. He said he recorded most of the album live with his friends, which fits the same loose, personal approach he described in fashion.
The practical takeaway is simple: Thom Browne is no longer just a red-carpet choice for Wolfhard. It is the brand he trusts for milestone moments, and this Met Gala debut turns that long-running relationship into a visible industry signal for both his fashion identity and his music-driven public profile.
