Ford Bronco Tops 17,000 April Sales, Beats Jeep Wrangler

Ford sold over 17,000 ford bronco models in April, putting the SUV ahead of the Jeep Wrangler for that month. The result gave Ford a monthly edge even though the Wrangler still led on full-year totals entering the spring.

2026 Sales Race

Ford introduced the Bronco in 2021 as a direct competitor to the Wrangler, and the April number showed the gap can narrow fast. In the first quarter of 2026, Jeep sold 44,461 Wranglers, while Ford sold 31,197 Broncos.

That quarter also showed both sides moving in different directions. The Bronco posted a slight year-over-year dip, while the Wrangler had a solid increase.

Wrangler Fleet Advantage

The Wrangler’s broader lead still rests on scale. Ford sold over 146,000 Broncos in 2025, its best Bronco year ever, while the Wrangler sold roughly 167,000 units.

Fleet sales help the Wrangler maintain that advantage, since Wranglers are commonly found in rental fleets and Broncos are rarely seen there. Ford built the Bronco to compete directly with the Wrangler, pairing off-road capability with modern comfort and technology, and April showed that strategy can win a month even before it closes the yearly gap.

Ford Bronco In April

For buyers watching the segment, the April result is the clearest sign yet that the Bronco has moved from a relaunch story to a sales rival. The more important number remains the yearly total, and the Wrangler still holds that lead.
