Stefano Domenicali Secures Sky Sports F1 Deal to 2034 — Planet F1

planet f1 has the new end date: Sky Sports will remain the exclusive home of Formula 1 in the UK and Ireland until 2034 after extending its partnership with the series for a further five years. For viewers, that keeps every practice, qualifying session, Sprint and Grand Prix live on Sky Sports F1 and NOW.

Stefano Domenicali on Sky

Formula 1 president Stefano Domenicali said, "Sky has always been a dedicated, trusted and passionate partner since we began our relationship many years ago." He added, "Their world-leading approach to live broadcasting, content creation, behind the scenes analysis led by a truly amazing group of on-screen talent has made the difference in continuing to grow our sport in the UK, Ireland and Italy and I am delighted we will be taking our partnership into the next decade."

The extension keeps the same viewing route in place. All races, qualifying and practice sessions will continue to be exclusively live on Sky Sports F1 and available to stream on NOW, while live home nation races and highlights of every Grand Prix will also be shared on free-to-air.

Dana Strong and Sky growth

Sky group chief executive Dana Strong said, "We're proud of the role we've played in supporting the sport's growth through world-class storytelling, innovation and long-term investment." She added, "This new agreement secures Sky as the home of Formula 1 for years to come, as the sport enters an exciting era with more British talent on the grid and rising stars like Kimi Antonelli."

Sky has held the UK and Ireland rights since 2019, and the deal now runs through 2034. In that time, Sky says total viewing has increased by 90 per cent, under-35s viewing is up 120 per cent and female viewership has more than doubled.

Lando Norris and 2025

The numbers behind the extension are strong. Viewing grew by 14 per cent across Sky's F1 coverage from 2023 to 2025, and the 2025 season reached 162m viewer hours. Britain’s Lando Norris also won the 2025 Drivers' Championship for McLaren, giving Sky another British title winner to carry through its coverage.

The agreement also keeps live coverage of Formula 2, Formula 3, F1 Academy and Porsche Supercup on the service, while Sky's F1 output continues to reach international broadcast partners in more than 100 markets worldwide. Sky will also remain the home of F1 until 2032 in Italy after Sky Italia agreed a five-year extension to its deal.

Kimi Antonelli’s rise

The next stretch of Sky’s F1 coverage will include a 19-year-old Kimi Antonelli, who has won three successive races to take an early lead in the 2026 Drivers' Championship. That gives the broadcaster a fresh storyline to carry alongside the established championship race, with the same exclusive live package still in place for UK and Ireland viewers.
