Donald Anderson Arrested in Metro Atlanta in Jayy Wick Shooting Case

Donald Anderson, known as jayy wick, was arrested in metro Atlanta on May 5 in connection with a Panama City Beach shooting that left an 18-year-old man critically injured. Deputies say the case now carries a charge of attempted first-degree murder, and if Anderson is convicted he faces a minimum mandatory 25-year sentence.

Beach Access 83 on April 25

Deputies said the shooting happened around 11 p.m. on April 25 at Beach Access 83 in Panama City Beach, where they found the 18-year-old with multiple gunshot wounds. Investigators said eyewitnesses identified Anderson as the person who fired multiple shots before he fled the scene.

A security guard associated with Anderson told deputies he heard the gunfire, found the victim and moved him closer to the pavement from the beach area. That detail matters because the victim was already critically injured when responders arrived, and the scene had to be stabilized before the arrest case could move forward.

May 4 surveillance in Atlanta

Investigators obtained an arrest warrant and traveled to metro Atlanta on May 4 to conduct surveillance and interviews. They arrested Anderson on May 5 without incident, with help from the United States Marshals Service, Atlanta Police Department, Clayton County police and Panama City Beach police.

Authorities said they recovered a firearm from Anderson during the arrest. Anderson is expected to be extradited to Florida, where the shooting happened and where the attempted first-degree murder case will continue to move through the system.

Tommy Ford in Bay County

Sheriff Tommy Ford said, “We will not tolerate this kind of violent behavior in Bay County.” He added, “It doesn’t matter who you are or where you are.” Ford also said, “If you come to Bay County to commit these crimes, we will find you and hold you accountable.”

Anderson had performed on stage at Vibez Night Club in Panama City after the shooting, and deputies said he was in the area for “229 Takeover Weekend.” The blunt part of this case is the simplest one: the arrest moved the suspect from an out-of-state search into custody, but the Florida case is still active and the charge carries a long prison exposure if prosecutors prove it.
