Turkish Airlines benefits from new 1,400-square-metre Star Alliance lounge in Guangzhou
turkish airlines passengers can now use Star Alliance’s new lounge at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport in Terminal 3. The 1,400-square-metre space opened with seating for around 245 guests and access for First and Business Class passengers and Star Alliance Gold members on member airlines from Terminal 3.
The lounge operates 24 hours a day and includes a 700-square-metre outdoor garden. Operations have fully transitioned from Terminal 1 to the new lounge in Terminal 3, giving eligible travelers one place to wait, work or eat before departure.

The opening ceremony included Ambar Franco, Star Alliance’s vice president for customer experience, and Qi Yaoming, deputy general manager of Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport. Franco said the lounge is “bigger and better” and will deliver “enhanced comfort and functionality” for Star Alliance member airline customers.
The facility was developed with the airport and is operated by Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport Business Travel Service Co., Ltd. Its design draws on Lingnan culture and Guangzhou’s natural landscape, including a central installation inspired by the kapok flower and a tea experience led by tea artists. The dining programme mixes Chinese and Western cuisine.
Star Alliance in Guangzhou
Ten Star Alliance member airlines operate from Guangzhou, with about 1,500 weekly departures to 52 destinations in 10 countries. The new lounge expands the alliance’s presence at a major international gateway and builds on its first lounge in Asia, which also opened in Guangzhou in 2024.
Qi said the airport will continue strengthening coordination with Star Alliance and major airlines through route network expansion, transfer facilitation and smart travel. For eligible passengers leaving from Terminal 3, the change is immediate: the new lounge is now the departure point before boarding, not the old Terminal 1 facility.
