Bindi Irwin Doing So Much Better After Steve Irwin Gala Update
Bindi Irwin is doing much better now after endometriosis surgery, according to Robert Irwin and Terri Irwin at the 3rd Annual Steve Irwin Gala on May 2 in Las Vegas. The update came after Bindi said on March 30 that she had 50 lesions cut out of her body over the past three years.
Terri said, “Bindi is doing so much better now” and added that “a lot of travel are a bit challenging for her at the moment,” which is why she stayed home for the gala. Robert said the family has 500 people on the Australia Zoo team and about 500,000 acres of conservation land to manage, adding, “Someone’s got to hold down the fort.”
Las Vegas gala update
Terri said Bindi was “in spirit” at the Bellagio event and added that she will be there next year to celebrate the Steve Irwin Gala. She also said, “This year she’s just staying a little close to home,” and that it is “less taxing for her to be home feeding crocodiles.”
That home base has become part of the story. Bindi has been open about her endometriosis fight, and her March 30 post laid out the scale of it in blunt numbers: 50 lesions removed over three years, after 10 years of being undiagnosed. For a public figure who works in conservation, the family is making clear that recovery has changed how she shows up.
Australia Zoo duties
Robert said Bindi is still doing “a great job” helping hold things together from home while the family carries Steve Irwin’s legacy forward. He also said, “Dad’s legacy’s never been more important because we all know there are big issues that face the planet,” tying the health update to the work the family says it still has to do.
The practical takeaway is simple: Bindi is improving, but travel still has limits, so her work has shifted closer to home. For now, the family is treating that as a workable arrangement, not a pause.
