news on 6 reports that Broken Arrow Police say a driver failed to yield near Aspen and Kenosha Street and killed Zakk Moody in a motorcycle crash last week. Courtni Moody said she got the call that her husband had died, and she described coming home to an empty house after Saturday’s ride never ended.

Broken Arrow Police statement
Broken Arrow Police say the driver who hit Moody failed to yield near the intersection of Aspen and Kenosha Street. Courtni Moody said she was told from the hospital that he had passed away, and she recalled, “I got a call from the hospital saying that he was at the hospital, and he passed away, and my heart just dropped,” before describing life at home without him.
She said Zakk Moody loved to two-step with his wife and was a good husband and a good father. Courtni Moody also said, “He’s so good. He’s fast. He was always so fast. I would get so dizzy,” and added, “Literally the love of my life, my soulmate, my person. An amazing father, and it’s so rare to find a father that wants to be so inclusive with their children,” as she spoke about the man her family lost.
Courtni Moody and Penelope
Courtni Moody said her daughter Penelope reminds her of Zakk Moody. She said she plans to honor his memory by continuing to go to church and pray and by carrying forward the things he loved in daily life.
Her appeal to drivers was direct: “If we all just pay attention on the road, no families would have to go through what I’ve had to go through,” she said. For the Moody family, the road home now ends with a vacant seat in the house, and the police investigation into the crash is still open.
