Dusty Tyrone Porter Arrested After Tucson Domino's Robbery, Bond Set
Dusty Tyrone Porter was arrested on May 4 after police say he robbed a Tucson domino's at 6th Avenue and Valencia Road and then told investigators he wanted to be locked up. He was booked on armed robbery and prohibited possession charges and was held on a $150,000 bond.
Porter Admission At Scene
According to the interim complaint, Porter walked into the pizza shop with a handgun, took $300 from the register, and walked away. When Tucson Police Department officers arrived, he approached them and admitted to the robbery.
Porter later told investigators he tossed the gun in the trash can at the store. Officers found a maroon Glock 9mm there, and it was not loaded and did not have a magazine.
Gun Reported Stolen
Porter also told the Tucson Police Department that he hid the magazine behind some protein bars at a nearby Circle K store. Police said the gun had been reported stolen by Porter's girlfriend the day before.
The case adds a second layer beyond the robbery itself: the weapon used in the alleged offense was already reported stolen before Porter entered the Domino's. That detail turned the arrest into both a robbery case and a prohibited-possession case under the same complaint.
Porter Prior Conviction
Court records say the 38-year-old Porter was convicted of armed robbery in Pima County in 2010 and sentenced to 7 1/2 years in prison. He was released in late 2017.
In court, Porter said he robbed the Domino's because he wanted to be locked up, telling investigators, "because I want to be locked up, I don’t want to be out there."
