Fábregas Warns Como Ahead of Verona Vs Como Trip

Cesc Fábregas has put the pressure on Como before verona vs como, warning that the trip to already-relegated Hellas Verona will not be easy. Como go into Serie A matchday 36 in sixth place, three points behind fourth-place Juventus, with only one win from their last five matches.

Fábregas and Verona

The Como coach said his side need hunger for goals and a proactive approach if they want to leave Verona with points. He also drew attention to the way Verona handled Juventus last weekend, when Paolo Sammarco’s team sat in a low block, broke on the counter and came away with a 1-1 draw.

Cassano and Como

Fábregas also opened the door to Riccardo Cassano joining the squad for the weekend trip. The 16-year-old trained with Como last week, and the coach said he understands the style the club wants to play.

He followed that with a stronger endorsement: “Estoy muy contento.

Verona’s recent edge

Verona arrive after Bowie scored their opening goal in the 1-1 draw with Juventus, and the Scottish player has three goals since joining from Hibernian in January. He has scored two of Verona’s last seven Serie A goals, a reminder that even a relegated side can still punish opponents when chances fall their way.

Como have reasons to be cautious beyond Verona’s latest result. Paz has scored four away goals in seven Serie A matches in 2026, and he has five goals from outside the area, tied with Kylian Mbappé. Verona have not beaten Como in their last eight Serie A meetings, with their last win in December 1986, and Como are unbeaten in their last three away matches against them as they chase their first top-flight league double over Verona.

For Como, the task is straightforward on paper and awkward on the pitch: protect sixth place, keep contact with Juventus and avoid dropping points against a side that has already gone down but has still shown enough resistance to draw with a top team. Fábregas has already framed the demand — the visitors need to start fast, stay alert against Verona’s block and turn a fragile league position into a result.
