Lincoln City Plans 9 May Bus Parade From 2.30pm

lincoln will see an open-top bus parade on Saturday 9 May from 2.30pm to 4pm as Lincoln City celebrates a title-winning campaign. Tens of thousands of fans are expected in the city centre, and the club is warning that the roads, car parks and busier public transport links will all feel the strain.

High Street to Riseholme Road

The parade starts at the southern end of the High Street where it meets South Park Avenue around 2.30pm. From there, the bus heads north and east along Tentercroft Street, then passes through St Mary's Street, Wigford Way and Silver Street before looping around Lincoln Cathedral.

It finishes by heading up Newport and Riseholme Road, with the parade ending in line with the Lincoln Imp pub. The route gives fans a clear window to watch the team’s celebration, but the club is asking them to stay on the pavements and within designated viewing areas rather than stepping into the road.

City Centre Crowds

Lincoln city centre is expected to be incredibly busy during the parade, and the club is advising people not to bring flares or pyrotechnics of any sort. Car parks across the city are also expected to be very busy, which puts extra pressure on anyone planning to drive into town for the event window.

One specific complication is Castle Hill Car Park, which is not available because it is being used for the Lincoln Grand Prix cycling event. That leaves fewer convenient parking options near the route, especially for visitors aiming to arrive close to the 2.30pm start.

Travel And Viewing Options

The club says there are many bus and train options to get to the city and is recommending the Stagecoach journey planner for travel planning. Stagecoach is replicating its matchday offer for the event, including a 60% discounted day rider that gives adults unlimited bus travel within the LCFC zone for £2 and a reduced £1.40 day rider for Gold members up to and including the age of 19.

Journeys run up to every 15, 20 or 30 minutes in the daytime, giving supporters another route into the centre without adding to the parking squeeze. Lincoln City also plans to livestream the parade on its Facebook page in partnership with Radio Lincolnshire, which gives fans another way to follow the celebration if they stay away from the route.
