Luke Durbin missing 20 years, Nicki Durbin says anniversary hurts
Nicki Durbin said it is painful to say luke durbin has been missing for 20 years, marking the anniversary of his disappearance from Ipswich. Luke was 19 when he vanished after a night out on May 12, 2006, and the case has never been resolved.

“Every anniversary is difficult, but I think saying 20 years out loud is just so painful; that's a whole life,” Nicki Durbin said. She added that her son has now been missing for longer than she had the privilege of raising him.
Luke finished his shift at an Aldeburgh greengrocer before travelling to Woodbridge to meet friends. He left his motorcycle, keys and mobile phone at a friend's house, then went with friends to the Zest nightclub in central Ipswich.

Police recorded Luke at the railway station after he left the nightclub area, but officers turned him away because trains had ceased running. He was later captured at the Hawk Express taxi rank, where he could not get a ride home because he lacked funds.
His last verified sighting came at 4:00 AM on Dog's Head Street, where he was seen crossing a zebra crossing and walking toward the town's bus station. That sequence has remained the clearest account of his final movements.
Suffolk Constabulary investigation
Suffolk Constabulary escalated the missing persons case to a major murder investigation and used its Major Investigation Team on the inquiry. Investigators tracked reported sightings as far away as London and Somerset, but no physical evidence has been found.
The absence of remains has left the family without closure while the case stays unresolved two decades on. For anyone still following the search, the record now rests on those final movements, the failed attempt to get home and the gap that followed on Dog's Head Street.
