Police Investigate Uw Student Death at Nordheim Court Apartments
Police are investigating a uw student death after a 19-year-old University of Washington student was stabbed to death Sunday night inside a laundry room at Nordheim Court Apartments in Seattle. Officers found the victim dead at the scene shortly after 10 p.m. on 25th Avenue Northeast.
By Monday, investigators said the suspect remained at large and should be considered armed and dangerous. Detectives also described the suspect as a Black man with a slim build, black hair and a beard, last seen wearing a button-up shirt, a dark blue vest and blue jeans.

The victim was identified by police as a 19-year-old transgender woman. The university said her family has been notified. Detectives said they do not believe the suspect is a University of Washington student, a detail that narrows the focus of the case away from the campus population and toward a suspect still being sought.
Authorities are reviewing surveillance video from the area and are working to determine whether the stabbing was targeted or a random act of violence. Those two possibilities point investigators in different directions, from a dispute connected to the victim to an attack without a known connection, and police have not settled that question.
Police Search And Alerts
University officials urged students to remain alert and travel in groups, particularly after dark. For students living near the off-campus housing complex, the advice is immediate: avoid moving alone when possible and stay alert around the apartment area where the killing happened.
Police asked anyone with information to contact the Seattle Police Department homicide unit. The search now turns on two things already in motion: surveillance video and witness information that could identify the suspect before he reaches someone else.

The case centers on a 19-year-old student who was found dead inside a laundry room at a housing complex tied to the university community. With the suspect still at large, the practical question for people nearby is simple: keep distance, stay in groups, and pass along any useful information to detectives.
