Disney Adventure Sailing Canceled After Boarding — Disney Cruise News

Disney cruise news turned into an onboard cancellation on May 7, 2026, when Disney Cruise Line’s Disney Adventure had its four-night Singapore sailing called off after guests had already boarded. Passengers said the ship’s captain first told them there were technical issues and that they would “set sail soon,” before the trip was canceled entirely the next day.

May 7 Boarding Delay

By around 2 p.m. local time the following day, the captain announced the sailing would not go ahead. One passenger wrote on Reddit, “It’s really disappointing especially if vacationing with kids,” capturing the practical problem for families who had already settled in for the voyage. Passengers also said they waited hours for official instructions after that announcement.

Disney Cruise Line later wrote, “We are truly sorry to let you know that we are unable to proceed with your Disney Adventure experience from May 7-11, 2026 as planned,” and added that “your safety and comfort as our guests are always our highest priority.” The line’s own wording matters here because the cancellation hit after boarding, not before departure day began.

Hotel Details At 12:10 A.M.

Passengers said they did not receive hotel details until 12:10 a.m., and they did not expect to reach the hotel until well after 1:30 a.m. That gap left guests in limbo for hours while crew members handled the fallout on the ship. The Reddit account also said only a handful of crew members were assisting them during the wait.

Disney Cruise Line said affected guests would get a full refund, 50% off a future cruise, a complimentary hotel stay, coverage for potential flight change fees, and up to $500 per stateroom for incidental expenses. A passenger said the 50% discount requires booking by July 31, 2026, and sailing by May 31, 2027. A Disney spokesperson said the future cruise must be booked by and must depart on or before May 31, 2027.

Disney Adventure’s Expansion Test

The Disney Adventure sits inside Disney Cruise Line’s push to grow its fleet to 13 ships by 2031, so a cancellation after boarding is more than a single-sailing problem. It puts the line’s handling of disruptions under a brighter light, especially when guests are already on board and waiting for direction instead of changing plans at home.

For affected passengers, the immediate issue is not the canceled sailing itself, but the clock on the future-cruise credit and the rest of the compensation package. Anyone using the 50% offer has a narrow booking window, and the voyage has to leave by May 31, 2027.
