Lebron James Stats: 27 Points in Lakers' 108-90 Game 1 Loss

lebron james stats showed the only steady offense the Lakers had Tuesday, but Los Angeles still lost Game 1 108-90 to the Oklahoma City Thunder in Oklahoma City. James scored 27 points on 12-for-17 shooting, and the defeat kept the Lakers in a playoff stretch where they have not topped 100 points in four straight games.

James pointed straight at Luka Doncic’s absence after the loss. The Lakers forward said, "We have a guy that averages 37 [points] a game [out]," and added, "Thirty-three-and-a-half. … There’s the issue right there."

James Carries The Scoring

Twenty-seven points on 12-for-17 shooting was enough to lead Los Angeles, but not enough to keep pace with Oklahoma City. The Lakers shot 10 for 30 from three-point range, and Austin Reaves added only eight points on 3-for-16 shooting.

That left the Thunder able to absorb James’ night without giving up control of the game. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander finished with 18 points, and Oklahoma City forced seven turnovers while limiting the Lakers to 90 points.

Doncic’s Absence Looms

Doncic has been out since suffering a Grade 2 left hamstring strain in Oklahoma City on April 2, and the Lakers have not found a clean replacement for his scoring. They are averaging 99.6 points per game in the playoffs, the lowest mark among teams still playing in the conference semifinals.

James said, "When you play against great defense, you have to have guys that can attract multiple defenders on the floor at all times" after the loss, and the Lakers did not have that kind of spacing often enough against Oklahoma City. He also said, "I feel like we had great shots. We got some great shots tonight, we missed them."

Thunder Pressure Raises The Cost

The Lakers had leaned on James, hot shooting, and defense before Game 1, but that cushion has thinned as the offense has stalled. They have scored fewer than 100 points in four consecutive games, and three of those games ended in losses.

Reaves backed up that problem from his own night, saying, "I got to get my spots multiple times and just missed a couple of easy shots," after the game. Oklahoma City left Tuesday with a 1-0 lead, while Los Angeles leaves knowing the missing scoring load around James is now the central issue for the series.
