Harrison Bader Returns After Six Rehab Games for Giants

harrison bader is back on the San Francisco Giants' active roster after a Monday afternoon move that ended his time on the 10-day injured list. The Giants also called up Tristan Beck before opening a four-game series against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Bader Back in Center

Bader returned after six rehab games with Sacramento, and the Giants need more from his bat after the offense had struggled before he went on the injured list. In those rehab games, he went 4-for-18 with two home runs, three walks, five strikeouts and one stolen base.

That line looked better than what came before it. Before the injury, Bader was 6-for-52 with one home run, one double, two walks and 17 strikeouts, so the Giants are getting him back with a chance to reset at the plate rather than chase the same early trend.

Giants Add Tristan Beck

To make room, San Francisco optioned right-hander Dylan Smith and catcher Logan Porter to Triple-A Sacramento. Smith pitched in one game for the Giants, recording two outs while walking a batter, and Porter appeared only as a pinch runner.

Beck gives the Giants another arm after a taxing weekend series used many relievers. He posted a 5.40 ERA and a 3.15 FIP in Triple-A in 2026 and is back in the majors for the first time this season after appearing in 31 Major League games a year earlier.

Roster Shape Before Dodgers

The Giants were down to two catchers, Jesús Rodríguez and Eric Haase, after the moves. Daniel Susac could return later after rehab, but Monday's shuffle was built around getting Bader back and adding relief help before facing Los Angeles.
