Brittany Cartwright Says Brandon Hanson Friendship Remains Intact

Brittany Cartwright says she and Brandon Hanson are still friends after their breakup. She also says watching their relationship play out on The Valley Season 3 feels strange, because it was “such a short fling type of thing.”

“It is funny, but it is what it is. You live, and you learn. I was just having fun at the time, and we’re still friends,” she said while discussing the split. Cartwright added that “The way I handled [the breakup] was great,” and said she had learned “so much” from past relationships.

Season 3 Brings Hanson Back

At the beginning of Season 3, Cartwright introduced Hanson to her friends and viewers, turning a brief relationship into part of the show’s storyline. That matters because her dating life is now unfolding in public alongside her divorce from Jax Taylor and her role as the mother of 5-year-old Cruz Cauchi.

On May 1, she said on her podcast that she was not together with Hanson anymore and had “firmly closed that chapter” in her life. On May 8, she was even more direct about where she stood now, saying she was “single as a Pringle,” that she had “time to heal and work on myself,” and that she deserves “to be happy and get the butterflies.”

May 8 Podcast Update

The May 8 episode of When Reality Hits with Brittany Cartwright added the clearest picture of her current life off-camera. “Trust me, I’m having a blast,” she said, before adding, “I’m still single, but you know, Cruz is the most important thing in my life.”

She also said, “I had a lot of healing to do from my horrible situation that I was in and still am, but I am dating and having fun.” She described Hanson as someone she knew “from way back” in Kentucky, said they had been friends before reconnecting, and said they were “hot and heavy” when they got back in touch.

Brittany Cartwright Moves On

Cartwright’s comments leave little ambiguity about the present: the Hanson chapter is over, the friendship remains, and she is not presenting a new serious relationship yet. For viewers following The Valley Season 3, the update lands as a reset rather than a plot twist, with Cartwright choosing to frame the breakup as part of the learning curve instead of a lingering storyline.
