Starmer Caught in London Hailstorm as 12C Weather London Today
weather london today brought hail to London on Wednesday morning, and Sir Keir Starmer and Lady Victoria were caught in it while travelling from 10 Downing Street to the House of Lords for the State Opening of Parliament. The Met Office said the capital would hover around 12C for much of the day.
Sir Keir Starmer and Lady Victoria
Starmer and Lady Victoria were travelling to the House of Lords when the hailstorm hit. Their route from 10 Downing Street put them in the weather at the same time London temperatures plunged across the capital.
The Prime Minister’s trip was part of the State Opening of Parliament, turning a routine journey into the clearest public example of the morning conditions. The weather also gave London a rare comparison point: the Met Office said it was colder than Helsinki and Oslo on Wednesday.
Met Office 12C Forecast
The Met Office said London would stay around 12C for much of Wednesday, then rise to 14C on Thursday and 15C on Friday. It also forecast highs of 24C from Thursday, May 21, to Saturday, May 23, with temperatures staying above 20C into the following week.
That swing leaves the capital moving from hail and cold to a run of warmer days within a short window. Many London schools enter May half-term in the following week, so the change would arrive as the city shifts into the holiday period.
