Brigitte Macron denies claims over Golshifteh Farahani text — Daily Mail

Brigitte Macron has categorically denied allegations that a row with Emmanuel Macron caught on camera last year was sparked by messages involving Iranian-French actress Golshifteh Farahani, a person close to the French first lady told daily mail. The denial comes after a new book by Paris Match journalist Florian Tardif revived claims about what happened on the plane in Vietnam.

Florian Tardif wrote in An (almost) perfect couple that Brigitte Macron “lost her temper” after discovering a message on Emmanuel Macron’s phone, and later said on RTL radio on Wednesday that some exchanges with Farahani “went quite far.” Tardif said one message read, “I find you very attractive.”

Macron’s account of the incident

Emmanuel Macron said last year that the ordeal had been “blown out of proportion” and that he was “joking with [his] wife.” At the time of the incident, the Elysée Palace staff described the row as horseplay, after initially calling reports of a slap fake news.

That earlier version sits at odds with Tardif’s account. The new book links the public row to a private exchange with Farahani, while Brigitte Macron’s denial rejects that claim outright.

Golshifteh Farahani’s denial history

Golshifteh Farahani has previously shot down rumors of a relationship with Emmanuel Macron. Farahani has not publicly commented on the allegations in Tardif’s book, leaving the dispute focused on the competing accounts already on the record from Macron’s circle, the Elysée, and the author.

The book went on sale on Wednesday, and Tardif also discussed the alleged exchanges on RTL radio that same day. The immediate next step is public scrutiny of the book’s claims, with the central dispute now reduced to whether the on-camera row had anything to do with Farahani at all.
