Liverpool Prepare €50m Akliouche Bid After Gakpo Exit
Liverpool are ready to test Monaco with a bid of around €50m for akliouche, with Maghnes Akliouche emerging as the club’s next flank target. The move sits alongside Cody Gakpo’s possible exit and a wider summer reshuffle on the wings.
Liverpool and Maghnes Akliouche
Akliouche has seven caps for France and produced 7 goals and 11 assists in 42 appearances for Monaco this term. He is a left-footer who operates mainly on the right side, the sort of profile Liverpool want as they keep building speed and end product from wide areas.
The French winger was also targeted by Tottenham before rejecting that move, and a summer switch now looks close. Liverpool believe they can land him for less than the earlier €70m valuation, which had been placed at about £61m.
Cody Gakpo and the left side
Cody Gakpo has permission to depart Liverpool, and multiple reports say the club are ready to call it quits on him. That leaves Arne Slot weighing a change across the front line after Gakpo’s fresh terms and pay rise last August now sit in the background of a possible sale.
Liverpool already want Yan Diomande as their headline addition on the flanks, but they also want a second signing there. Mohamed Salah is leaving on a free transfer despite having a year left on his current contract, while Federico Chiesa could return to Italy after failing to convince Slot that he deserves more minutes.
Monaco to Liverpool
For Liverpool, the next step is straightforward: push on Akliouche while the wing reshuffle is still open. A €50m offer would test Monaco’s position immediately, and the price point tells the story — they are not waiting for the market to settle before moving on a player they think fits the right side.
If Gakpo leaves, the need for another wide signing becomes sharper and Akliouche moves closer to the center of the summer plan. Monaco’s winger has already drawn serious attention once this year; Liverpool are now preparing to turn that interest into an offer.
