Prashant Veer Says CSK Arrived Two Days Early for Lucknow

prashant veer said Chennai Super Kings arrived two days early in Lucknow to tailor their preparation for the May 15 match. The move came after CSK dropped their first three games, but Veer said the dressing room stayed stable and the support staff kept backing the squad.

Veer on CSK's dressing room

"We’ve always maintained a very stable team environment, regardless of the results. Our support staff is exceptional; they never stop backing us."

He paired that with a blunt view of the early slump. "Even when we lost those first three games, there was never any negativity in the dressing room. We had total belief that we could turn things around at any moment. That kind of administrative and coaching support made the comeback much easier for the players," Veer said.

That comeback has already shown up in his role as well. Veer was CSK's Impact Player in their win over LSG at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Sunday, a game that came before the trip to Lucknow and set up the next test on a different surface.

Lucknow conditions for CSK

Lucknow is the part of the schedule that pushed CSK into the earlier arrival. Veer said the conditions suggest seam movement, and he pointed to the ground's history of offering something for bowlers.

"The conditions in Lucknow suggest we might see some seam movement today. I’ve played a lot of cricket here, and this ground traditionally offers something for the bowlers."

He said the extra time on site was deliberate. "Knowing that, we arrived two days early to acclimatise and ensure our preparation was tailored to these specific conditions. We feel very well-prepared for the challenge ahead," he said.

Veer's focus in Lucknow

The setting also adds a personal layer for Veer, who is set to play at the ground where he turns out for Uttar Pradesh in domestic cricket. Even so, he pushed aside any individual framing and said his priority is the result for CSK, not his own batting numbers.

"To be honest, that innings is in the past now. In T20 cricket, you have to stay in the present," Veer said after noting he has made 66 runs with the bat.

"My only focus is ensuring the team wins today. If I can contribute with a strong performance to make that happen, that’s great, but the team's result is the only thing that truly matters to me," he added.
