Kevin Huerter Questionable for Game 6 With Thigh Injury

Kevin Huerter is listed as questionable for Game 6 against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday night because of a thigh injury. The Pistons need one more response in a series they trail, and his availability adds another variable to a rotation that has already changed in the playoffs.

Huerter played in Game 5 after entering that matchup questionable, but he logged only three minutes and finished with one assist. Detroit lost 117-113 in overtime at home on Wednesday night, so the next injury report now matters as much as the box score did.

Daniss Jenkins Starts, LeVert Returns

Daniss Jenkins made his first career playoff start for Detroit in Game 5 and posted 19 points, three assists and two rebounds. Caris LeVert also played despite being listed questionable before that game, and he scored seven points off the bench in 24 minutes.

LeVert’s status carries its own weight because he was listed questionable again for Game 6 with a heel injury. He had scored 24 points in the Pistons’ road loss to the Cavaliers in Game 4, then followed that with a shorter scoring night in Game 5.

Robinson’s Status Shifts Detroit

Duncan Robinson missed Game 5 because of lower back soreness after scoring in double figures three times in the first four games against Cleveland and shooting 57.7 percent from three-point range. His absence opened the door for Jenkins’ start and trimmed the scoring options Detroit had used earlier in the series.

Robinson, Huerter and LeVert were all listed as questionable for Game 6 at Rocket Arena. For Detroit, that leaves the series in the hands of players whose availability and minutes have already swung from game to game, with one more loss ending the run.
