Madonna, Shakira and BTS Lead World Cup 2026 Dates Halftime Show
Madonna, Shakira and BTS will co-headline the first FIFA World Cup final halftime show on world cup 2026 dates, with the performance set for Sunday, 19 July 2026 at New York New Jersey Stadium. The show is being tied directly to the final, and the push behind it reaches beyond the stage.
Infantino Sets the Tone
Gianni Infantino called the three acts global icons and said FIFA is proud to welcome them to the first-ever World Cup final halftime show curated by Chris Martin of Coldplay. He also said the event will shine a light on the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund and on a shared mission to expand access to quality education and football opportunities for children worldwide.
The announcement places the final inside a larger fundraising drive. The FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund is targeting USD 100 million, and more than USD 30 million has already been raised before the July match date arrives.
Chris Martin And The Fund
Chris Martin described the show as “all about togetherness… and everyone’s invited.” Global Citizen is producing the performance with Live Nation and Done + Dusted, turning the halftime slot into a coordinated live event rather than a simple concert break.
One concrete piece of support is already built into the ticketing. USD 1 from every ticket sold to FIFA World Cup 2026 matches will be donated to social projects all over the world, giving the final show a funding link that runs through the tournament itself.
Madonna, Shakira And BTS
Madonna said performing at the World Cup final in support of the fund is deeply meaningful to her, adding that without education, children are denied opportunity before they even have a chance. Shakira said she will perform “Dai Dai,” the song she created for this World Cup and for the children the fund will reach.
Sesame Street characters and The Muppets will also be part of the show, widening the stage beyond the three headliners. For fans, the setup is now fixed: the final on 19 July, the venue in New York New Jersey Stadium, and a halftime show built around three acts, a charity target, and a first for the tournament.
