Mark McCall Makes Two Changes for Saracens Vs Gloucester

Saracens vs Gloucester brings two changes to the home side for Saturday’s Gallagher PREM Round 16 match in North London. Mark McCall has altered the team that beat Bristol at Ashton Gate as Saracens chase four consecutive wins for the first time this season.

McCall Reworks the Pack

Rhys Carre starts in the front row alongside Jamie George and Marcus Street, while Maro Itoje partners Nick Isiekwe in the second row. Isiekwe moves from blindside flanker into the engine room, and Theo McFarland returns at six.

Ben Earl continues at openside, with Tom Willis completing the pack after his Player of the Match display against Bristol last week. That keeps the forward core largely intact while McCall adjusts two spots from the side that battled past Bristol.

Bracken Keeps Momentum

Charlie Bracken remains at scrum half beside Fergus Burke at 10. Olly Hartley and Nick Tompkins line up in midfield, Rotimi Segun starts on the left wing after scoring against Gloucester the last time they visited North London, Noah Caluori is on the right wing, and Max Malins completes the back three at full back.

Bracken said Saracens have been treating every game as a mini cup final because of the play-off positions at stake. He also said the squad came in with strong momentum after three very different wins, but expected Gloucester to arrive full of confidence.

Clarey and Elliott Stay

Alec Clarey stays on the bench after signing a new contract with the club, while Tobias Elliott also keeps his place after scoring the decisive interception try against Bristol seven days ago. Those selections give Saracens continuity in reserve while preserving the option of impact off the bench if the match tightens late.

Saracens said 13 members of the matchday squad have come through the academy pathway, and six players will graduate into the Senior Academy ahead of the 2026/27 season. With the playoff race still tight, the lineup underlines a side trying to turn recent form into the four-win run it has not yet produced this campaign.
