Eurovision 2025 Winner coverage shifts as 25 reach Vienna final
The eurovision 2025 winner conversation has already moved into Saturday’s final in Vienna, where 25 countries are now set to compete after the second semi-final. Eighteen acts took the stage tonight, and the 10 who advanced joined a field that already included the automatic qualifiers and Tuesday’s first wave of finalists.
Vienna Sets 25-Country Final
Ten countries advanced from the second semi-final and joined Belgium, Croatia, Finland, Greece, Israel, Lithuania, Moldova, Poland, Serbia and Sweden in the final. Austria already had its place as host, while the UK, Italy, Germany and France entered automatically as the Big Four, bringing the Saturday lineup to 25 countries in Vienna, Austria.
Mark Savage, reporting from the semi-final in Vienna, kept the betting picture in view as the field tightened. “I think Delta's the one to watch.” He added, “There's also a possibility that Israel will romp home in the public vote.”
Bookmakers and the UK
“And what of the UK? After tonight's result we have two chances to win (or, more realistically, lose) at the grand final,” Savage said. “Our official entry, Look Mum No Computer is currently ranked 21st by the bookmakers.” He also noted, “Above that, in 16th place, we have Cypriot entry Antigoni - who was born and raised in London.”
That ranking leaves the UK outside the early favorite band, while Savage’s comment on Finland cuts against the market view: “I personally think Finland's odds are overstated.” The spread between his reading and the betting board is the real story line now, because Saturday’s final is already shaped by the automatic qualifiers, the host slot, and a qualification round that narrowed 18 performers to 10 survivors.
Saturday’s Closely-Fought Field
“Whatever the outcome, Saturday looks like it'll be a closely-fought contest,” Savage said. With 25 countries locked in and the final lineup now complete, the pressure shifts from qualification to execution on stage in Vienna. That is the only fight left.
