Litton Das Hits 126 as Bangladesh Post 278 in Pak Vs Bangladesh

Litton Das turned pak vs bangladesh with 126 off 159 balls, lifting Bangladesh to 278 after they had fallen to 116-6 after lunch in Sylhet on Saturday. Pakistan ended the day 21-0 in reply, still working from the back foot in the second and final Test.

Litton Das Drives Bangladesh

Das struck 16 fours and two sixes in an innings that rescued Bangladesh from the edge of a first-innings collapse. He reached his fifty off 93 balls, then needed 42 more deliveries to get to three figures, opening with a cover drive off Khurram Shahzad before hitting the next ball for six.

Bangladesh needed that surge because the innings had gone flat early. Mahmudul Hasan Joy was out for a duck off the second ball, Tanzid Hasan made 26 off 34 balls before falling to Mohammad Abbas, and Mominul Haque was bowled for 22 by Khurram Shahzad.

Pakistan Missed Early Chances

Pakistan had taken control quickly after winning the toss and choosing to bowl. They also let two review chances pass when faint edges off Mushfiqur Rahim and Litton went unchallenged by Shan Masood, and Shahzad later said, “We were getting wickets early on. Unluckily, we missed a couple of reviews” and “If we had gotten them out there, the situation would have been completely different.”

Even after Bangladesh lost Mehidy Hasan Miraz for 4, Litton kept the innings moving with support around him. He added 60 for the seventh wicket with Taijul Islam, 38 with Taskin Ahmed, and 64 for the ninth wicket with Shoriful Islam off 73 balls.

Sylhet Stumps At 21-0

Shanto made 29 and Mushfiqur Rahim 23 in a 43-run stand for the fourth wicket, giving Bangladesh a bridge before the lower order had to hold on. Pakistan’s reply began safely enough, with Azan Awais 13 not out and Abdullah Fazal 8 not out at stumps in Sylhet.

That left Bangladesh with a first-innings total built from recovery rather than control, after they had gone into the match leading the two-match series 1-0 following a 104-run win in Mirpur. Pakistan now have to chase the game from a flat start after a day that began with the ball and ended with Bangladesh still ahead on the scoreboard.
