Straus Family Creamery recalls products in 17 states — Fda Straus Ice Cream Recall
Straus Family Creamery issued a fda straus ice cream recall on Thursday for select organic ice cream products distributed in 17 states after identifying the potential presence of metal foreign material. The company said it is working with retailers to remove the affected lots from store shelves and told customers not to eat the recalled ice cream.
The recall covers only a limited number of production runs, not all Straus ice cream products. No injuries linked to the potential contamination have been reported.

The recalled products include Vanilla Bean pint containers with best-by dates of Dec. 23, 2026, and Dec. 28, 2026; Strawberry quart containers with a best-by date of Dec. 24, 2026; Strawberry pint containers with a best-by date of Dec. 25, 2026; Cookie Dough pint containers with a best-by date of Dec. 26, 2026; Dutch Chocolate quart containers with a best-by date of Dec. 27, 2026; and Mint Chip pint containers with a best-by date of Dec. 30, 2026. Straus said the best-by dates are printed on the bottom of the containers.
The creamery said the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has been notified. Customers who bought recalled products should discard them and not return them to stores. Straus said shoppers can request a replacement voucher by filling out a form on the company’s website.
Whole Foods Markets
The company expanded in April and made its ice creams available at Whole Foods Markets across the country. Straus also said the ice cream is sold at some ShopRite stores, Kings Food Markets and Fresh Markets in Connecticut, according to the company’s store locator on its website.
Connecticut, New Jersey and Pennsylvania were among the 17 states where the recalled lots were distributed. The multi-state reach means the recall extends beyond a single local market, and the company is already pulling affected products from shelves while shoppers check the best-by date on the bottom of the container before using it.
