Arsenal Can Seize Super 6 Title With Burnley Win
Arsenal can win the Super 6 and the 2025/26 Premier League title in Matchweek 37 by beating Burnley at Emirates Stadium on Monday night, but only if Manchester City do not win at AFC Bournemouth on Tuesday night. Mikel Arteta’s side are within reach of a first league crown in 22 years, and the title race could end before the final day.
Arsenal and Burnley at Emirates
If Arsenal take three points against Burnley, City would need to win in Bournemouth to keep the race alive for the final day. Anything less than a Manchester City victory would leave Arsenal champions with a game to spare.
The timing matters because Matchweek 37 runs until Tuesday night in the penultimate weekend of the season. Arsenal sit at the center of it, while City trail the leaders by two points after their 3-0 win over Crystal Palace on Wednesday.
Manchester City at Bournemouth
Bournemouth’s own position gives the Tuesday night match extra weight. They are sixth, unbeaten in 16 Premier League matches, and can secure at least a top-eight finish simply by avoiding defeat at home to City.
If Brighton & Hove Albion fail to win at Leeds United on Sunday, Bournemouth would need three points against City to lock up a top-seven finish and Europa League qualification at least. Brighton can secure a top-eight finish by winning at Leeds, while Brentford can do the same if they beat Crystal Palace at home and better the results of Everton and Chelsea.
Aston Villa and the top eight
Friday’s 4-2 win over Liverpool pushed Aston Villa into a Champions League spot and left them no lower than fifth, seven points clear of sixth-placed Bournemouth with six left to play for. Villa also have another route into the competition through the UEFA Europa League final against Freiburg on Wednesday 20 May.
If Villa beat Freiburg and finish fifth, the sixth-placed team would also qualify for the Champions League. Liverpool can still reach the competition this weekend if Bournemouth lose to City and Brighton fail to beat Leeds, leaving Sunday and Tuesday to decide how crowded the European places become before Arsenal’s title shot arrives on Monday night.
